Portland, ME — The Maine Academy of Modern Music (MAMM) has announced the full artist lineup for the 2026 Resurgam Music & Arts Festival (Resurgam), returning June 13–14 to downtown Portland for a two-day, multi-stage celebration of Maine’s music scene.

“Resurgam is about showcasing the tremendous talent here in Maine,” said Jeff Shaw, Executive Director of MAMM. “This event gives a new generation of Maine musicians a chance to step onto big stages and share the spotlight with established artists who’ve helped shape the scene. We’re excited to share the full artist lineup today. Coyote Island, which headlines the festival on Sunday, is an example of a band from Maine that is getting global attention right now.”

For Coyote Island, returning to Resurgam as a headliner is a powerful reminder of the effect such festivals can have on homegrown talent.

“Our first show with our current line-up was here at Resurgam years ago,” said Mike O’Hehir, the Maine-born producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of Coyote Island. “To come back as the headliner with the same group of guys feels very full circle. We can’t wait to see everyone there.”

The free, outdoor festival expands significantly this year with multiple stages across public spaces and venues throughout Portland’s Old Port and waterfront. Presented by MAMM in partnership with Otto’s Pizza, the City of Portland, and community partners, Resurgam continues its mission of showcasing Maine’s diverse and rapidly growing music ecosystem—bringing together emerging student musicians, established regional acts, and nationally recognized artists.

The 2026 festival headliners include:

  • Coyote Island is the musical vision of Maine-born producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Mike O’Hehir. Rooted in folk music and expanding into psychedelic indie soundscapes, the project has evolved into a dynamic live band known for its expansive, transportive performances. Their breakout single “Here Before” introduced a rapidly growing global audience, and their live show has been described as both electric and immersive.

  • The Speed of Sound is a Maine-based indie rock band formed and fronted by acclaimed singer, songwriter, and producer Spencer Albee. Known for a melodic, Beatles-esque sound, the band is a staple of the New England music scene, featuring a lineup of experienced musicians focusing on high-energy, groove-driven music.

  • Forget, Forget is an indie synth-pop band from Portland, ME, consisting of Tyler DeVos, Patia Maule, Glen Capen, and Aaron LaChance. Their poignant lyrics are set against a backdrop of driving rhythms, lush harmonies, and expansive textures. Bring your big feelings to the dance floor and find some catharsis.

+ Partner Event Headliner: King Kyote is a Maine-born roots-rock artist whose gritty, Americana-infused sound and electrifying live shows have quickly made him one of the Northeast’s most compelling rising stars. His music has been described as “a night of whiskey drinking in a cabin among the Maine pines” and in 2022 the York-based artist gained national attention while competing on NBC’s American Song Contest. He headlines the festival’s partner event to close out the weekend.
